What we provide

The shelter provides overnight accommodation for up to 12 people: 10 extra beds are available in cold weather.

The drop-in sessions offer a meal, support and advice, including help with job applications, housing and health issues.

We are a local charity supported by our community. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue to improve services at the Open Door facility.

With your help people can escape homelessness, find work and lead more settled lives.

One of our former residents got back in touch to say:

“I now have a job, I’m married and have a child. Without the support of the Open Door Charity, it couldn’t have happened. Please help them to turn around people’s lives”

Having a bed for the night is of immense help to homeless people. But just as important is the dignity of having your own room, and the self-respect gained from talking to others over a meal, or getting help from the drop-in service.

We very much welcome the support of individuals, businesses and community organisations. If you would like to support the Open Door Charity, please consider making a donation, becoming a sponsor or organising a fundraising event.
